The NGO Sang Tabou has undertaken surveys on the menstrual hygiene management of displaced women and girls in the Don Bosco camp in Goma, responding to their urgent appeal. The results of these surveys reveal that the situation is calamitous, illustrating the challenges faced by these women and girls in an already precarious environment. Limited access to menstrual hygiene products and adequate information exacerbates their living conditions, making their daily lives even more difficult.
Faced with this alarming humanitarian crisis in the east of the Democratic Republic of Congo, it is imperative to act quickly. The survey results underline the urgency of implementing solutions to improve menstrual hygiene management, thereby guaranteeing the dignity and health of displaced women and girls.
Increased awareness and mobilization of resources are essential to meet their basic needs and provide them with adequate support during this critical period.
